About Us
... is made up of 14 organisations who have an interest in Education Business Link (EBL) activity within the local area. This new body has been formed in response to Government changes which allows the local Learning and Skills Council (LSC) to become the one responsible body for the range of EBL activities in its area as from April 2001
The aim of the EBLO Consortium is to provide all young people with a wide range of high quality, relevant and structured experiences throughout their school careers which will meet the DfES Priority Aims:
- To help young people understand the world of work and thus improve their employability;
- To help young people to acquire knowledge, skills and attitudes towards enterprise, financial literacy and an understanding of business
- To help the delivery of the national curriculum in particular the work related learning at Key Stage 4
- To help raise the levels of achievement in schools and narrow the achievement gap
- To improve behaviour, attitudes and motivation of pupils
- To contribute to the development of the school workforce
The EBLO Consortium will also
"ensure that all the organisations work together to deliver the area's priorities, and provide a "single face" to schools, colleges and business and a co-ordinated approach to the delivery of EBL activity within the LLSC boundary".
