Young Enterprise is an education business charity whose programmes are delivered by Business Partners in schools and colleges throughout the United Kingdom. Most of our current programme support comes via the Learning Skills Council which enables us to deliver our core programmes at littler or no cost to schools and colleges. Our principle of Learning by Doing engages all students from Primary through to University in educational, enterprising and interactive initiatives. Nearly all the YE Programmes for the secondary age group meet the Key Stage 4 requirements and all legal requirements for Work Related Learning
Our Vision – that all young people have the opportunity to gain personal experience of how business works and understand the role it plays in providing employment and creating prosperity and be inspired to improve their own prospects and competitiveness of the UK
In Lincolnshire and Rutland, Young Enterprise is predominantly known for its Company Programme – a scheme that enables students aged 15 -19 to create, develop and run their own business through an academic year, all students who take part in the experience can enrol for the Young Enterprise qualification, It will help students in their records, UCAS applications and future career opportunities, so it’s fun and educational, a real `learning by doing’ experience.
Some of our other initiatives are - Primary Programme This offers young people from 4 to 11 the chance to learn about their communities, the economics of and value of money, jobs, employment, living in a community and the public services and facilities offered. They learn about the commercialism of the world and some very important citizenship skills.
For secondary and further education, Young Enterprise has a range of business, citizenship, and enterprise programmes available to them. Learn to Earn – introduces the concept of success, achievement and independence in a work context and explores career choices and the links to education. Project Business – introduce key business concepts, such as the role and responsibilities of the consumer and offers practical work related learning. Enterprise in Action – creates an interactive simulated business context over the internet and underpins business concepts by games and activities, and Entrepreneurship Masterclass which encourages young people to think about starting their own business and where to find advice, to find out more about these and other Young Enterprise programmes please contact.
