Lincolnshire & Rutland LEA
Rutland
Rutland is England’s smallest mainland county with a total population of 35700. The County Council maintains seventeen primary schools and one special school for children aged 2-6. Secondary education is provided through three foundation schools for the age range 11-16 with education beyond the age of 16 being offered at Rutland College in Oakham.

Rutland Local Education Authority is committed to working collaboratively with all local agencies directly or indirectly involved in supporting the community’s learning and development. The LEA is an active member of the Consortium, assisting in the development of local strategies and plans for education business link activity in Rutland and providing the Consortium with insight and advice on school development plans and curriculum-related issues. Rutland LEA is committed to promoting partnerships that will mutually benefit business and education in Rutland and actively assists communication between members of the Consortium and schools and colleges in the county, facilitating new and improved links. Rutland LEA hopes that in assisting the Consortium in its work it will afford all pupils and teachers additional opportunities for personal and professional development and assist in the transition from school to workplace.

The development of the Consortium will provide a forum for ongoing dialogue and engagement with others in order to support the outcomes we all seek for young people as we continue in our mission of raising standards and widening opportunities.

themselves with the skills, knowledge and personal qualities needed for life and work, releasing their potential and achieving excellence as they held to build a fair and inclusive society.
